The positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of the PST were decided at our monthly board meeting last night.
The board spent a considerable amount of time discussing both roles at length and subsequently Ashley Brown was elected to the role of Chair for the coming year and to support him, Pam Wilkins was chosen by a majority vote to the role of Vice-Chair.
Ashley had this to say following his appointment "I'm honoured that the board have asked me to return to the role of Chairman, albeit saddened that the vacancy arose due to the sad loss of Ken Malley. We welcome a number of new board members to our ranks each of whom are already showing the energy and commitment required. The whole board are enthused by the challenges ahead and I look forward to leading them through the next year."
Pam Wilkins said "I am delighted to have been elected as the Vice-Chair of PST. I have been part of the Trust from the beginning and having already gone further than we ever dreamed possible at the start, PST now needs to find a new direction and I look forward to supporting Ashley in taking PST forward. I will endeavour to continue the work of the late Ken Malley by helping supporters with any issues they have and will still be there at the Pompey Bus every Saturday prior to home games".
In other news, we are also delighted to announce the co-option of Eric Coleborn to our board. This appointment will help strengthen the ties between the Pompey Supporters’ Trust and the Presidents Group. Upon his appointment, Eric said – “I strongly believe that our Football Club have the most fantastic supporters in the world. This has been proved by the incredible number of people who came to the clubs rescue in its hour of need. I am pleased to be co-opted to the PST board and I hope to bring everybody together to help achieve success on and off the pitch. I think I can bring passion with an ability to deal with problems that every organisation experiences”
