Fans Urged To Contact Lawyers For Shrewsbury 2013 Incident
By Scott Mclachlan

Added on 24 March 2016

The Pompey Supporters Trust have been contacted by the legal team that have been involved in seeking compensation claims and are asking fans to make contact with them to progress a "no win, no fee" claim.

Following further discussions with West Mercia Police they are accepting personal claims and Darren White from Deighton Pierce Glynn is looking to speak to Pompey fans who were caught up in the "kettling" of fans in a nightclub in April 2013 in order to progress valid compensation claims.

Darren said “It looks likely that West Mercia Police will be willing to settle claims brought by supporters locked up in the nightclub before the game at Shrewsbury on 27th April 2013 as long as supporters can prove they were at the game (via a match ticket or proof they travelled to Shrewsbury that day) and that supporters do not have a history of being in trouble in connection with football matches."

One fan has already had a settlement and it seems that similar claims will now succeed:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-shropshire-27631663
