At the last board meeting, Ian Limb was elected as the new Chair of the Portsmouth Supporters’ Trust, effective from 1 July 2026, succeeding Donald Vass. Ian has been a member of the PST Board for the past three years.
On his appointment, Ian said:
"It is a real honour and very humbling to be appointed as the new Chair of the PST. I appreciate the very big shoes that I will be filling, not only following Donald but also the many Chairs who came before him.
When I was asked to take on the role, I was initially apprehensive. However, I was greatly encouraged by the support of a number of former Chairs who remain on the Board. It was important to me to have their endorsement and the support that comes with it.
It would be remiss of me not to express both my own and the Board's appreciation to Donald for all the hard work and commitment he has given to the role. In particular, I would like to recognise his work on the annual members' survey, which has given every member and supporter the opportunity to express their views — whether positive or negative — about the state of our beloved football club.
The Board and I are committed to continuing this approach to supporter engagement, ensuring that our members and Pompey fans in general have a platform to express their views. Through our relationship with the club, either directly or via the Heritage and Advisory Board, we will continue to ensure those views are heard by the people responsible for running our football club.
I would also like to thank Leon Tricker, who has decided to step down from the Board, for his valuable contribution. At the same time, I am delighted to welcome Scott McLachlan back onto the Board — a name many of you will remember from his previous time with the PST.
As a Pompey fan for more than 50 years (my first game was in 1974), I will always be in awe of those who, in our club's greatest time of need, created the Trust and then used it to quite literally save our club.
With this in mind, it is important that the Trust remains relevant in the ever-changing landscape of football, including developments such as the introduction of the new Independent Football Regulator. We must continue to maintain an effective relationship with the football club, acting both as a conduit for supporters' views and, when required, as a critical friend.
My fellow Board members and I will do everything we can to ensure that this continues."
