Pompey Supporters’ Trust is delighted to announce John Kimbell has been appointed one of the Board’s representatives on the football club Board of Directors after successfully passing the Football League’s Owners and Directors Test.

John replaces Mick Williams, who resigned from the Trust Board last month and stepped down as football club Director at the same time. His appointment brings the Trust complement back to three.

John (39) has been on the Trust Board since being elected in 2013 and first went to Fratton Park in 1983. He has a season ticket in the South Stand Lower and is a community shareholder in PST.

A Marketing graduate from both UWE Bristol and Portsmouth University, John is now joint Managing Partner of London based digital media agency Navigate Digital.  John set the company up in 2007 after ten years of working in various roles at agencies such as Universal McCann and Saatchi & Saatchi.

John said:  “It’s an incredibly proud day for me.  I’ve been coming to Fratton Park since I was seven have always wanted to be involved as I possibly can at the club.

“To be able to make a contribution at board level is a fantastic, once in a lifetime opportunity.  I’ve been fortunate enough to have done a number of different things at Fratton Park over the years, including mascot, ball boy and even sitting pitch side with the club photographer at the time, Murray Sanders.

“First and foremost though I am joining the club board as a PST representative so I will be working alongside Ashley Brown and Mark Trapani to ensure we’re properly representing our shareholders at club board level.  Like the other members of the board, I am a fan who quite simply always has and always will want the best for the club so it’s great to be joining a board of likeminded people who are all pulling in the same direction.

“Mick Williams did a fantastic job representing the PST on the club board so I know I’ve got some big shoes to fill, but I am confident that I will be able to build on the excellent work Mick did as a PST representative.”

Trust Chair, Ken Malley added: “Mick Williams’ resignation from the Trust Board meant that he could no longer represent us at club level and undoubtedly he will be missed by both Boards. However, In John we have a young, dynamic replacement who was our unanimous choice to replace Mick.  He has the full support of us all and we’re really pleased John will be representing us alongside Ashley and Mark in the Fratton Park boardroom.”

John is more than happy to speak to anyone on a match day or answer any questions people may have via email – [email protected].
