Pompey Supporters' Trust, Pompey in the Community and Portsmouth Football Club have received three nominations at the 2018 Football Business Awards.

The PST and the Club were jointly nominated for Best Club and Supporters Group Relationship. This award – which is given in partnership with Supporters Direct – celebrates the close relationship between the Trust and the club.

Pompey in the Community were shortlisted in the Best Football Community Scheme (non Premier League) category after working with the Club and local police to engage with junior supporters, giving them the chance to develop their skills for a positive future.

The Club was also recognised in the Best Fan Engagement by a Club category.

Pompey Supporters’ Trust chair Simon Colebrook said: “I’m so pleased to see the PST, Pompey in the Community and Portsmouth Football Club nominated for three of the Football Business Awards. We’re particularly proud to be shortlisted for the best club/fan group relationship award.

“Having sold the club to Michael Eisner and the Tornante Company, we’ve been working hard with the club to continue the amazing relationship that was rebuilt with fans following a difficult period.

“It has been great to see Michael, Eric Eisner, Andy Redman and everyone else at Tornante become part of the Pompey family. We can also see their enthusiasm to meet with and listen to supporters as we look to continue the journey that the PST started in the restoration of Portsmouth Football Club.

“We’re delighted that this relationship has been recognised and are proud to be listed with the trusts of our fellow nominees, who I know are doing great things with their respective clubs.”

Clare Martin, chief executive of Pompey in the Community, added: “To be shortlisted for the community award is really exciting.

“The project we entered jointly with the police and PFC is groundbreaking and has had a real impact on the lives of the young people involved. It’s great that Pompey’s innovation has been recognised and we’re really looking forward to the awards evening.”

Pompey chief executive Mark Catlin said: “It’s an amazing achievement for everyone associated with this club to be finalists in three prestigious Football Business Awards categories.

“Even more pleasing is the fact that the nominations reinforce the hard work undertaken across the Pompey spectrum.

“The club, PitC and the PST are working together to deliver to supporters an unrivalled level of engagement that we can all rightly be extremely proud of.”

Pompey also enjoyed success at 2016’s Football Business Awards, with Mark Catlin being named CEO of the Year at both League Two and national level.

This year’s ceremony will be held in London on Thursday, November 22.
