2. Q&A Event with John Mousinho, Richard Hughes & Andy Cullen

We’re pleased to announce that John Mousinho, Richard Hughes & Andy Cullen will be attending an event for PST members at Fratton Park on the evening of Wednesday 6th November. Further details and information on how members can secure their free ticket will be sent out separately later this month.

3. Heritage & Advisory Board 24/25

The PST are pleased to confirm that the three board members attending the Heritage & Advisory Board meetings for the 2024/25 season are Ashley Brown, Simon Colebrook and Donald Vass. These quarterly meetings are attended by the club’s owners and directors, and are used to discuss the club’s long term strategic planning. We will continue to represent the supporters of the club in these meetings, voicing fan opinion, concerns and perspectives.

4. Portsmouth Local Plan

The PST has submitted a representation for the Local Plan Pre-Submission Consultation. This is an important document which sets out the local council’s plan for the city across the next few decades, including the area around Fratton Park.

“The proposed policy reflects the stated aspirations of PFC in terms of providing an expansion of the North Stand of the stadium, a supporting hotel, and mixed conference and event facilities. These facilities are needed to increase revenue to the Club and to meet the demand from supporters for increased capacity. The policy is therefore appropriate for the needs of the football club and its fanbase.

The PST carried out a survey of supporters between 15 February and 3 March 2024 in which 2,418 fans responded. This showed that the topic supporters were least happy with was transport links to the stadium. The PST Board accordingly supports the desirability of providing an access off-road pedestrian and cycle route connecting Fratton Station to the stadium, although we don’t believe this is essential for stadium expansion.

The PST Board welcomes the positive relationship between the City Council and PFC and looks forward to both working together with other stakeholders to secure the early and successful implementation of the proposals for Fratton Park and the Pompey Centre.”

5. Pompey Women Supporters Club

The PST were pleased to provide a small financial contribution to the newly-formed Pompey Women Supporters Club to help them to set up and establish themselves. More information about the group can be found here.

The PST were also pleased to recently work with the club to have the women’s first home fixture moved to avoid a clash with the men’s home game against West Brom, which had been moved for TV. We raised the topic with the club, and later wrote a letter in support of their application to have the game moved, which was successful.

6. 72Cast

PST Chairman Donald Vass was a recent guest on EFL-focused podcast 72Cast, discussing Premier League memories, Pompey supporters saving the club, and the bravery needed to appoint John Mousinho in the face of fan protests. The episode is available to listen to here.
