The PST are pleased to support the club's newly-published Fan Engagement Plan, which is available to view here: https://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/fans/fan-engagement-plan
The PST were invited to contribute towards the plan, which sets out the different channels through which the the club engages with supporters.
We recently met with different supporter groups from around the country at the FSA AGM to share what works well at Pompey. Many said they lack the open, transparent and meaningful dialogue that we have with our club's owners and senior staff.
Donald Vass, chairman of the Pompey Supporters’ Trust, said: “The principal of meaningful fan engagement was hard fought and won by Pompey fans during our supporter ownership era and has been preserved by the club’s owners, staff and fanbase ever since.
“The Tony Goodall Fans’ Conference is a leading example of fan engagement, which should serve as a model to other clubs. Senior club staff subject themselves to regular scrutiny, challenged by a number of established supporter groups in an open meeting with an agenda set by fans, with the minutes then published in full.
“At the quarterly Heritage & Advisory Board meetings, supporter representatives can meet with the owners of the football club and have an input into the club’s long-term strategic planning.
“Various working groups have been established on a range of individual topics, such as ticketing and matchday experience, which has helped the club to work collaboratively with supporters as part of their decision-making processes.
“Portsmouth Football Club has a long-standing history of regular, meaningful and transparent fan engagement and the Pompey’ Supporters Trust is pleased to fully support this plan and the different channels it sets out.”
