The Pompey Supporters’ Trust welcomes the changes made to the club’s loyalty point system and ticket exchange structure.
PST Chair Donald Vass said:
“When we held our supporter survey in March, these were the two most common things fans told us they wanted to see improved about the club’s ticketing procedures.
“Supporters told us they thought £5 wasn’t a fair amount to receive when they listed their season ticket seat on the club’s ticket exchange platform. An adult season ticket holder will now get at least £15 for doing so. That’s going to mean fewer seats are left empty at Fratton Park next season, as supporters have a real incentive to list their ticket on the exchange if they can’t attend games.
“Fans who responded to our survey also told us they wanted to see tweaks made to the loyalty point system used to prioritise access to away games. The PST wholly supports the principle that fans who travel regularly to games should get priority access to high-demand fixtures — in fact, the PST was part of the group that originally worked with the club to establish it. But the changes made today will ‘future-proof’ the loyalty point system, ensuring it remains fair and balanced for years to come. We’re confident that fans who regularly attend away fixtures won’t be disadvantaged by the changes, but this means that younger fans — who haven’t had as many years to accrue points — won’t face a mountain to climb to match ever-growing totals of long-standing supporters.
“Consulting with fans and making these changes is a great example of why the club was recognised at both the FSA Awards and EFL Awards for outstanding supporter engagement last season. The club has listened to feedback and acted to improve the experience for fans — we’re grateful to them for doing so, and look forward to working with them throughout the season on further improvements for supporters.
