2016/17 Fixtures Released
By PST Board

Added on 22 June 2016

Pompey fans can look forward to home ties as the curtain both rises and falls on the 2016/17 season at Fratton Park.

We start the season at home to Carlisle on August 6th, before rounding things off with the visit of Cheltenham at the end of May.

We can see how Carl Baker fancies it ‘on a Tuesday night at Morecambe’ as soon as August 16th, when Pompey fans make the long trip up North – straight off the back of another away game at Crewe on the 13th.

Pompey fans looking to enjoy an away day/weekend in Blackpool maybe disappointed to see that we are currently scheduled to play there on a Tuesday night – 27th September.  Equally you might want to start making your excuses now for Valentine’s Day next year as it’s currently the day Blackpool are scheduled to come to Fratton Park.

The chance to avenge our defeat at Plymouth comes on October 15th – in a month that also sees us visit Leyton Orient and Cambridge.

Part of Christmas will be spent in Wales for some Pompey fans as we visit Newport County on Boxing Day. An equally glamourous trip to Yeovil on New Year’s Eve will round off the year for Pompey.

We see 2017 in with a game against Luton, before packed schedule in February and March leads us into the run in that could determine if we remain a League 2 team for another season or not.

PST spokesman Johnny Ertl said "The release of the fixtures is always excting as it means the new season isn't far away.  No doubt our fans will be happy we start and end the season at home, but are probably less excited about the prospect of Tuesday nights in Morecambe and Blackpool!.  The fact remains, we have the best supporters in the country so wherever we play they'll turn up in their numbers and make plenty of noise"
